Group Discussion at I.E.T, Agra-House Hunting

                We have encountered number of problems in and around the

               campus. But the biggest problem of ours is “House hunting for rents” because of

               not having any hostel in our campus so there is no accommodation available for the
               students.
               About 80% of the students in and around our campus are not local to Agra i.e they
               are from different cities. So the first task of students is to put time and efforts for
               house hunting after getting admission. But searching for apartments, house and flats
               for rent is not an easy job especially if students are not aware of city, location and
               neighbors. Students generally end up spending travelling expenses, brokerage
               charges, their time and efforts in search of rooms for rent but still unsatisfied with
              the rental.
              According to a survey conducted amongst the students of our campus 75% of the
              surveyed students are unsatisfied as a tenant.
              55% of the students agreed with the statement that “ rent cost is expensive.
              10% of the surveyed students fears about unpredictable eviction by landlords.
              30% of the surveyed students face privacy issues by landlords and neighbors.
